Soft tissue injuries include: torn ligaments, sprained muscles, pulled tendons, pulled muscles and torn muscles. These types of personal injury can be extremely painful and severe, meaning disability for a period of time.
Soft tissue injuries can occur from any type of accident, be it a car accident, a sporting accident, an accident at work or even an accident on holiday. They are extremely common, and in some cases extremely severe, which is why clickandclaim is here to help.
Sprains
Sprains occur from the over-extension of a joint, usually when stretching too much for something – or when participating in sport without adequate stretching before hand. It is not just your muscle which is affected by a strain as blood vessels, ligaments and tendons can also be affected.
Although a 'sprain' may sound like a minor injury, it could be serious in extreme cases. If a sprain is particularly severe then doctors may prescribe a plaster-cast which would mean lack of movement of the specific area of the body for a period of time. Consequently, you could be forced to take time off work to recover from your injury. Time off work means loss of earnings, and this may not seem fair if the injury you have suffered was at the fault of someone else. It is situations such as these that justify clickandclaim as we are here to help you gain the justice you deserve for an injury you have suffered through no fault of your own. It is not fair to lose out on earnings because you have suffered as a result of someone else’s fault, why should you be made to pay?
Treatment for Sprains
For a sprain the common term R.I.C.E applies – Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.
It is important to let the affected area recover naturally in its own time, so plenty of rest is essential in this situation. If you do not rest, then the injury will most probably become more severe.
Bruising / Contusion
If a part of your body has suffered a harsh blow then it is most likely that a bruise will occur. A bruise (Contusion) is the bleeding of damaged blood vessels beneath the surface of the skin.
Depending on the force of the blow then a bruise could be extremely severe and could take days or weeks to heal. Also, depending on the position of the bruise, you may suffer from lack of mobility for a period of time.
Similar to a sprain, the treatment for a bruise is R.I.C.E (Rest, ice, compression, elevation)
