Bus Accidents - Personal Injury Compensation Claims with clickandclaim's Personal Injury Solicitors

Suffering a personal injury as a result of a bus accident could entitle you to a compensation award.

Passengers on public transport, such as buses, trams, trains, ferries, ships and aeroplanes can sometimes end up being injured, through no fault of their own, after an accident involving the vehicle they were travelling in.

There are some special rules regarding claims on ships and aeroplanes. The major difference is that in those circumstances claims must be made within two years of the accident rather than the usual three.

Bus or train companies, indeed all providers of public transport, have a duty of care to their passengers to ensure their safety. A bus passenger may be injured in a fall after the bus pulls away from a stop too quickly or the bus driver makes an error and the bus collides with another vehicle. This type of injury caused by an accident on a bus can leave the passenger with considerable injuries, maybe requiring hospitalisation and/or time off work. It is always more difficult to make a claim if there has not been a collision but we will always be happy to talk to you however you were injured. We have had many years experience with this type of compensation claim involving the victims of bus accidents where people have sustained genuine injuries.

However, in many cases people are injured in bus accidents where the bus driver is not at fault. For instance a bus passenger may be thrown from their seat or fall after the impact from another vehicle colliding with the bus. In accidents like this the bus driver would not be at fault and a claim against the third party involved would need to be made to compensate the injured bus passenger.

In almost all cases if you suffer an injury following a collision travelling on a bus you will be able to make a successful claim against somebody. It is even possible to make a claim if the driver of the vehicle was not insured. Talk to us about the circumstances of your particular case and we will be happy to advise you.
